The Canon Ef12Ii Extension Tube Is Used To Allow A Lens To Focus Closer Than It Would Normally. Extension Tubes Are Commonly Used For Macro Photography And Sometimes For Close-Up Portraits. This Updated Version Ii Is Now Also Fully Compatible With Canon Digital Ef-S Mount, As Well As Standard Photo Ef And Ts-E Fittings. Extension Tube Ef 12 Ii Is Suited For Close-Focusing With Wide-Angle Focal Lengths. Compatible With All Canon Lenses, Except The Canon 15Mm F/2.8 Fisheye, 14Mm F/2.8L And Mp-E 65Mm F/2.8.

Canon Produces Tubes In Two Different Lengths – 12Mm And 25Mm. The Ef12 And Ef25 Tubes Come With Electrical Contacts Which Allow Data Transfer Between The Lens And Camera To Be Maintained. It Is Possible To Attach The Ef12 Tube To The Ef25 Tube To Give A 37Mm Extension. Canon Does Not Recommend This, As The Data Transfer May Be Affected, But Acceptable Results Are Possible If You Are Willing To Experiment.
